Got a brand-new system? If you run into any initial hiccups, don't worry. Below is a quick guide to resolving the most common startup issues — best of all, you won't need to open your computer case or handle any internal components for these steps.

If these troubleshooting tips don't solve the problem, we are always here to help. Simply email us at support@cbnpcs.com and we will get you sorted out.

Troubleshooting Your New PC

Quick and easy fixes — click any issue to expand it.

1. My PC Won't Turn On at All +

If your system is completely unresponsive, try these quick checks:

  • Verify the Power Connection: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into both the back of your PC and a functioning wall outlet or surge protector. Try a different outlet to rule out a dead socket.
  • Check the Power Supply Switch: Locate the toggle switch on the back of your PC near the bottom (where the power cable plugs in). Make sure the side with the horizontal line (—) is pressed down, which means "On". The circle (O) position means "Off".
  • Press the Case Power Button: Once the power source is confirmed, press the physical power button on the top or front of the case and wait a few moments.
Still no signs of life? If there are absolutely no lights, fan movement, or sounds, drop us an email at support@cbnpcs.com. Let us know what you've already tried, and we will guide you through the next steps.
2. Monitor Displays "No Signal" +

This is almost always a simple cable placement issue. Here is how to fix it:

  • Check the Display Port Location: Look at the back of your computer. You will see two separate areas for plugging in cables:
    • Upper ports — these connect directly to the motherboard.
    • Lower ports — these belong to your dedicated graphics card (GPU).
    • Always plug your monitor cable into the lower (GPU) ports. Most of our systems require this to display an image.
  • Verify Monitor Input & Power: Turn your monitor on and use its physical menu buttons to make sure it is set to the correct input channel (e.g., HDMI 1, DisplayPort 1) corresponding to the cable you plugged in.
  • Secure the Cable: Unplug the display cable from both the monitor and the PC, then firmly plug it back in at both ends.
Still seeing a blank screen? Send an email to support@cbnpcs.com with a quick photo of the back of your PC showing where the cables are plugged in. We will help you get it running.
3. Fans Spin, but the RGB Lights Do Not Turn On +

If your fans are keeping the system cool but aren't glowing, check the following:

  • Boot Completely Into Windows: Many systems require the operating system and background services to load fully before the lighting profiles activate. Give your PC an extra minute after reaching the desktop.
  • Check for Control Software: Look through your installed applications for lighting managers (such as SignalRGB, Armoury Crate, MSI Center, or iCUE). If you don't have one installed, contact us and we can tell you which software fits your components.
  • Wake Up the PC: RGB lights often turn off when the computer enters sleep or low-power mode. Tap a key or move your mouse to wake it up.
Still dark? Email us at support@cbnpcs.com with the brand of your fans (if you know it) and when the issue started, and we will walk you through a fix.
4. Keyboard/Mouse Light Up, but the Screen is Black +

If your peripherals have power but your monitor is completely dark, use these steps:

  • Double-Check the Display Connection: Ensure your monitor cable is plugged into the dedicated graphics card ports (located lower down on the back of the case) rather than the motherboard ports near the USB slots.
  • Check the Monitor's Power Indicator: Look for a tiny LED light on your monitor to confirm it is receiving power. If you don't see one, verify the monitor's power cord is secure.
  • Verify Source Input: Ensure your monitor is actively set to the correct input source (HDMI or DisplayPort).
Screen still blank? Please reach out to us at support@cbnpcs.com with your order details so we can investigate further.
5. Something Looks Loose or Unplugged Inside the Case +

Vibrations during transit can occasionally nudge a component or cable loose. If you spot something out of place:

  • Do Not Attempt to Plug It In Yourself: To prevent any accidental damage or safety hazards, please refrain from touching any internal parts for now.
  • Take Clear Photos: Snap a couple of high-quality pictures — both a wider shot of the interior and a close-up of the suspected loose part.
  • Send Them to Us: Email your photos and your Order Number to support@cbnpcs.com. Our team will analyze the images and give you safe, step-by-step instructions.
6. My PC Arrived Damaged From Shipping +

We pack every system securely, but rough handling during transit can happen. If your PC arrived with physical damage:

  • Do Not Power the PC On: If there is broken glass, bent metal, or heavily damaged packaging, do not plug it in or turn it on.
  • Document Everything: Take clear photos of the shipping box (especially any dents or punctures), the internal packaging materials, and the damage to the computer itself.
  • Contact Support Immediately: Email your photos, a brief description, and your Order Number to support@cbnpcs.com. We will prioritize your case and get it resolved right away.
